- Variety Of Expression In Multilingual Sentence Generation
By Raymond Kozlowski, candidate for the Computer Science faculty position.
Thursday, February 23, at 12:30 in Skalny 225.
"Abstract: Natural language sentence generation takes as input
some semantic specification of the meaning to be
expressed and produces a sentence in English, French,
Spanish, etc. The same content can often be expressed
in a variety of ways, particularly across languages.
This presents a challenge to a generation system.
The purpose of this presentation is to give an overview
of the issues involved and of an approach that handles
them in a simple, uniform, and efficient manner.
No prior knowledge of computational linguistics is assumed."
